Hunstanton Beach North Norfolk Cliffs

Hunstanton, North Norfolk

Situated in North West Norfolk, Hunstanton is a great example of a traditional seaside town. Established in the mid 1800’s as a resort by the Le Strange family of neighbouring Old Hunstanton the town still shows it’s victorian roots, from its architecture and long promenade to victorian gardens which you’ll find situated on the cliff top over looking Hunstanton Beach. For many people driving from northern counties Hunstanton marks the first family friendly beach on the North Norfolk Coast so it is particularly popular on summer days and holidays. If you are looking to entertain the family in North Norfolk there are so many things to do in Hunstanton. With the town facing west over the wash you don’t have far to walk to the family friendly beach with its near by amusements, bowling alley and sea life centre. To the south of town you’ll find Hunstanton fairground which offers all the favourites including waltzers, merry-go-round, dodgems and a ghost train while in contrast North of the town is much calmer with vast iconic orange and white cliffs towering over the Hunstanton Beach. With its mix of both counter and table service, Hunstanton Restaurants offer a variety of cuisine including Indian, bistro style dining, greasy spoons, American and serval fish and chip shops which as expected can have queues snaking out the door during high summer, much to the sea gulls delight.

Don’t miss

All the fun of the fair: the traditional fair still stands on the promenade, complete with big dipper and the ghost train. Stroll along the prom prom prom, grab a ’99’ and wander away the day. Rainy day bowling at Bowlers on The Green. The Wash Monster, one of four vessels providing fantastic trips along the coastline or to Seal Island out in The Wash, giving you great views back towards the coast, (departs from the promenade daily). Donkey rides, you don’t get any closer to seaside traditions. A trip round town on the Land Train. Grabbing a stick of rock to take home. Hours of fun on the water slide at Oasis Leisure Centre. Near to 100 million years of history in the striped cliffs which line the beach. Tributes galore, including ABBA, The Rolling Stones, T.Rex and Queen, throughout the year at The Princess Theatre.  Norfolk Deli, local ‘Best Independent Food and Drink Retailer’ winner. The all new, Hunstanton SEA LIFE    Sanctuary, fully refurbished last year following the tidal surge in 2013.
