My Norfolk – Heather Tidd
Born, raised and still living in Brancaster Staithe. Heather feels privileged to manage the Jolly Sailors in the village; her great grandparents all ran pubs, The Victory here in Staithe and The Lifeboat in Brancaster so we guess she’s following a family tradition.
Favourite shop
Urban Armour in Burnham Market. It’s like a box of chocolates, full of treats for a special occasion.
Favourite eatery
So lucky to have the White Horse in the village, top quality fresh food using great local produce plus that amazing view.
Favourite walk
Peddars Way. My husband and I walked its entire length with our very small tent! Beautiful weather, fantastic views and happy memories.
Favourite beach
We have enjoyed so many happy idyllic family days on Brancaster beach, swimming in the heat of the summer and long walks on a near empty beach in the Autumn. It’s a very special place.
Favourite season
Taking the children to Barrow Common after a heavy snowfall, every child from the village throwing themselves down the steep slopes on anything from bin bags, tea trays and sledges while trying to avoid the gorse bushes.

Best of all
Norfolk for me will always be home, family, friends and happy memories. I wouldn’t want to be anywhere else.
