Norfolk Wildlife Trust

Norfolk Wildlife Trust wants people to discover, explore and be inspired by Norfolk’s wonderful wildlife.

In 1926 twelve friends came together and bought a plot of land at Cley. It was to become Norfolk Wildlife Trust’s first – and flagship – nature reserve. To this day, Cley Marshes is still the charity’s most visited destination, and occupies a stunning site, with an award winning visitor centre and an exciting diary of events. But Cley is just one of many sites that the charity oversees. Almost ninety years later, today’s Norfolk Wildlife Trust takes care of a staggering 4,300 hectares of wildlife habitats all over the county, in a total of 60 reserves and protected sites. For visitors there are woodlands, heathlands, grasslands, broads, coastal sites, marshes, wetlands or fens to choose from. Not only is the work they do key in protecting and enhancing Norfolk’s wildlife, but the events calendar provides a wide variety of talks and walks throughout the year.

Special thanks to contributing photographers Liz back, Dave Kilbey and Barry Madden for included Norfolk Wildlife Trust images
